Why use this check
We stay below the maker's claims
Area and slope ratings are measured in best-case conditions. We keep a fifth of the area and a quarter of the slope spare, so a mower that fits on paper also keeps up in a wet week.
Trees, walls and gaps change the answer
Satellite mowers lose their way under dense trees, and many models need a gap of 1 m or more. We check those against your lawn, which spec sheets and "best of" lists don't do.
Local prices from real shops
Every price comes from a shop in your country, with the date we checked it. No currency conversion, no paid placements, and every spec links to the page it came from.

About the check
How does the fit check work?
You describe your lawn: size, steepest slope, what is above it and, if you like, gaps, grass type and budget. We compare that with the published specs of every wire-free robot mower sold in your country, keep a safety margin on the maker's figures, and show the models that fit, with local prices.
Is it free, and do you earn from it?
The check is free. Some shop links are affiliate links, so we may earn a commission if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change which mowers the check shows or in what order.
Where do the specs and prices come from?
Specs come from the manufacturer's own pages and manuals, with a source and date for every figure on the model page. Where a maker publishes nothing, we use a major retailer or a hands-on review and label it. Prices come from shops in your country and show the date we checked them.
Why does a mower rated for my lawn size show as a tight fit?
Area ratings assume best-case conditions and long mowing days. We call a lawn a clear fit when it uses up to 80% of the rating, or 70% with several lawns or heavy tree cover. Between that and 100% it is a tight fit: it will probably cope, but fall behind after a wet spell.
Which countries do you cover?
The US, Canada, the UK and Australia. The check only shows mowers that are actually sold in the country you pick, at prices from shops there. We never convert currencies, because brands set their prices per country.
My mower isn't listed. Why?
We only cover wire-free robot mowers, the ones that work without a boundary wire. If a wire-free model sold in your country is missing, write to hello@mowerfit.com and we'll add it.
